Edited From the Original Mss. at Wotton by William Bray F. A. S. Usually ships with delivery confirmation. Where available, a photo of the actual cover has been provided instead of a stock photo. Condition description: this is an 'unopened' book as it was issued by the printer. The pages are still attached to each other in the old-fasioned way, still awaiting the cut of the gentlman's book-knife to separate the pages of the different bound sections for reading. The cloth edges of the blue-cloth boards show some wear from repeated shelving, there is a small vertical smudge or streak on the back cover about 1 inch long, whoever had this copy obviously was not curious enough to slit the pages open to read the text, so the book is virtually untouched, there is a small vertical crack in the binding between pages 64 and 65 exposing the fabric slightly, though the book appears mechanically sound otherwise. There are also engraved illustrations of Jeremy Taylor, Edward Montagu (the Earl of Sandwich), Robert Boyle, John Locke and other notables. The colorful correspondence of a man who witnessed the Great Fire of London, The Great Plague of London, the Death of Charles I, helped to found the Royal Society his life spanned a great era (1620-1706), and his observations help illuminate that turbulent time.
