On the title page there is a purple bookseller's stamp with the words Colorama Price that surrounds the printed price (in rupees). Former owner's name written in pen on front endpaper. The paperback has a wrapper that has been slightly stained by water on the lower left hand side. This extends to the yellow inner cover, but is not as noticeable there. The book has flaws due to flimsy production, as is common from many books from this part of Asia, but it is in good overall shape. The book is illustrated with line drawings and photographs, but these are not of the best quality either. The book is as sound as it can be given the previous admonitions. This is a fairly rare and hard to get volume from a distant part of the world.

DVD (just the single DVD, this is not the 2 disc set), no enclosures or supplementary materials, just the DVD in a case with usual case artwork, The DVD has some pen identifying markings for library use on the non-shiny side of the DVD. There is a typical library label on the jewel case at the bottom of the spine, and a small sticky label inside the case with the library name on the inside of the jewelcase. It is an R-rated movie from Tristar Pictures, ISBN: 1435932579, UPC: 043396275140, ASIN: B002SJIO4A , 112 minutes. Title: District 9, 'Peter Jackson presents a Neil Blomkamp Film'. Where available a photo of the actual cover has been provided. Usually ships with delivery confirmation. There are plenty of detailed reviews of this film on different websites, the plot starts with a spaceship that gets shipwrecked over Johannesburg in South Africa. It does not crash, it just sort of floats motionless for months over the city. The film starts with a [mock] documentary on one of the participants, a human being. The documentary then by stages turns into an action film about the character in the documentary. Very clever, very innovative, but also very gruesome view of what might happen if a large number of 'refugee' aliens were stuck in trying to survive in a 3rd world environment, where the human residents grow increasingly more hostile to beings they see as interlopers, even competitors. We did not quite get the documentary approach, it is a fast-paced series of tv and video clips, and had to watch the film from the beginning after the first run through to get all the subtleties, but it all made sense since all the clues are there. The DVD also has deleted scenes, director's commentary, a three part documentary called 'The Alien Agenda' and details on how the film was conceived and executed in the often bleak Soweto area which was used as part of the backdrop. *

Interesting photocopy of a letter typed in Russian is included at the back of the book from Alexandra Tolstoy (referring to Tolstoy's now-deceased youngest daughter and founder of the Tolstoy foundation) that has been carefully folded and pasted into the back as a kind of personal recommendation and she offers in the short note on her letterhead to send copies of some of the pages to her friends, and university language course teachers that she knew as a personal way of getting the book into greater circulation. A note typed above her letterhead quotes her as calling the book 'remarkable' or 'zamechatelnyj' in Russian for its usefulness. The author has summarized much research into systematizing 8,600 common short Russian phrases in a dictionary format so they can be understood in English (with 11,000 possible translations without having to look up each individual word separately. Useful as a reference source for libraries and scholars. *

714120709018 A 1995 vintage bit of software from Starwave, one of Paul Allen's many commercial startups. The box shows some wear, it is a little squashed inwards on the bottom, and pushed out on the sides, as if being left at the bottom of a stack of heavier items and the ink on the box shows some rubbing and wear, especially along the edges of the box, there is even something that looks like an old grease stain on the bottom of the front cover. The CD-ROM disks installed and played OK, we backed out the installation after testing it for a while. There are some fliers on how to run the game, a licensing agreement and a slightly larger illustrated 12 page brochure with some review of Clint Eastwood's career. It is supposed to run under Windows 95 and NT, but when we tested it under Windows XP we could not get the Trivia Game to run correctly. It runs at a lower resolution setting, so don't expect top quality video clips from the Windows 95 world. It may need some outside add-ons or additional fiddling to get everything to run correctly. If you buy this, take this into consideration, all the features may not be accessible, depending on your PC's configuration. This was a back in 1995 a major $1.5 million dollar undertaking to create a multi-media interactive experience of the career and efforts of Clint Eastwood. There are some clips of the films that he was in and some interviews as well. We spent 45 minutes looking at the two CD-ROM disks and while they are not state-of-the-art anymore, they might prove of interest to and aficionado of the Clintwood opus. There is a brief clip of him sipping milk in a promotional commercial and we found out that he played in a Mr. Ed (the talking horse) episode, though we could not find a clip of him provided here. Hard to find copy. *

The box has seen some significant wear in that the bottom of the box has been squashed and the edges are rubbed, it is somewhat tattered in appearance. The installation uses an old version of Quicktime 2.1 which it tries to install as well. Has dial-up connection for local forecasts which was not tested, this was a toll call to an 900 phone number which may not be in service any longer, note that this is pre-Internet software. It installed alright on a Windows XP Professional system, it is not tested for compatibility with the Vista operating system. We tried a few basic functions from the menu, but the software is not sold with a guarantee. This is legacy Windows software designed for a mid-90s system, your results may vary depending on system configuration. Provides information for children in grades 4-8 a background in weather including information on clouds, tornadoes, hurricanes, a log of city-by-city temperature variations and precipitation in a list of American cities by month and some international cities as well. The interfaces are fairly simple, and basic with slide-show type presentations and some quizzes such as cloud identification. It appears that there is no technical support available, we checked for the website and it was no longer working as a software development organization. This might be of interest to fans of the Weather Channel as well since it is from the early days of this cable TV phenomena. *

Book shows some minor paperback book wear, and with the covers showing typical handling wear and a diagonal crease in the upper right of the front cover. Spine shows a little wrinkling, probably from careless binding, but otherwise the book may have been mostly unread, only some underlines in blue ball point pen in Castro's introduction on page 11. The pages are yellowed from the pulp stock used during the rush to get this book to retailers before other competitors obtained their own versions. An authentic piece of 60's memorabilia which sold out its' first edition quickly and became an icon of 60s journalism despite the rather turgid quotidian details of Guevara's struggles in the Bolivian jungle. *

B000TTMG7W This is the story book and a vinyl 33 1/3 RPM in the 7 inch wide format (small spindle, not the larger 45 RPM spindle). Disneyland / Vista Records. There is a 24 page stapled booklet with the a drawing of the rotund green dragon, and Pete playing tic-tac-toe on the dragon's stomach. Where available a scan of the cover and part of the record has been provided. Usually ships with delivery confirmation. For better handling and delivery time this will probably be shipped via First Class mail. The booklet shows some minor wear for a children's book, a little wrinkling along the spine, a little chipping of the ink along the edge of the spine, and some minor creasing on the back cover. Overall not in pristine shape, but on the other hand for a children's plaything, it is well-preserved with no major markings or scribbling found. This one of the few records that we found with the Read-Along sets, since the records usually are easily separated and are held in place with only a small and somewhat flimsy end flap in the back. Our usual sales of these items is just for the booklet. Dated MCMLXXVII which translates to 1977. The record has some superficial wear / scratches and fingerprints, we used a record player once on this and the record had some skipping, though we were unsure if it was the record player we used or the record. 'With Songs From The Motion Picture'. The point of the record is to allow the child to read along with the book - as it says on the back: - 'Word for Word story narration' - 'Dramatic character dialogue' - 'Authentic sound effects' - 'Musical backgrounds' - 'Favorite songs to sing'. A boy and his invisible dragon. A unique bit of Disneyana. *
