5 Austin Bruce Hallock Sky Full of Dreams: The Aviation Exploits, Creations, and Visions of Bruce K. Hallock (Tailless Aircraft Designer, Builder, and Pilot)
Elevon Books 0982639007 / 9780982639009 PAPERBACK Fine
0982639007 Signed by author. Paperback, with paper gift card from subject's widow and a promotional bookmark for the book as well, 2010 copyright, 230 pages. This copy is from the estate of the founders of the Browning Aviation Service in Austin where Bruce Hallock, the subject of the book, worked as an flight instructor many years ago, (which is mentioned in the book in a couple of places). Nearly mint condition, does not appear to have been handled very much. From the back of the book: No Ordinary Dreamer... This is the story of an extraordinary man who held fast to a dream and lived a remarkable life. It also happens to be a darn good airplane book! From high-adventure flying to high- concept design, Bruce K. Hallock lived and breathed airplanes. He dreamed them, designed them, built them, and flew them like crazy. His outstanding and varied career embraced military, commercial, and private aviation. He became a recognized expert on tailless aerodynamics, and the planes he conceived and built offered innovative approaches to some of the design challenges of his time. This engaging and informative book, written by his eldest son who knew him well, provides unique insights into a complex individual and the airplanes he built and flew. *

7 Paul . Lawler, Jack Creech Eagle with a Badge: the True Story of a State Police Pilot
Austin Eakin Press. First Edition 1571685472 / 9781571685476 Hardcover Fair
1571685472 Signed by author. Main reason for acceptable is dark and wrinkled coffee-type stain on front dust jacket near the bottom, about two inches across. The front blue cloth cover is not really affected except for a white dot. Signed with short personal dedication on front endpaper (first page) to a couple. Hardcover with dustjacket, 263 pages, Eakin Press, ISBN: 1571685472. From the dust jacket: Eagle with a Badge is the true story of pilot Paul Creech, who flew state police helicopters and other aircraft for thirty years, preceded by ten years as a highway patrolman. It was a life of extreme danger, with times of stark terror, interspersed with the routine that all police officers know. By day, by night, in weather ranging from floods and tornadoes to snowstorms, Paul rescued people, and helped ground officers apprehend bank robbers, murderers, and escaping convicts. He provided dangerous, low-level air support in siege situations and drug raids, often acting as the 'eyes' of officers on the ground. He was shot at often. His precision flying - in fact, his very survival - was calculated in seconds, inches, visibility, timing, and depended upon calm nerves and a steady hand on the controls. *
