729623100224 Software CD-ROM for use on Windows 3.1 - 3.11 systems circa 1995. ISBN 1-878805-48-7, UPC: 729623100217. No teacher's guide or other supplemental materials, except for a registration card and user agreement (EULA), this is basically for the CD-ROM only. The box has seen some significant wear in that the bottom of the box has been squashed and the edges are rubbed, it is somewhat tattered in appearance. The installation uses an old version of Quicktime 2.1 which it tries to install as well. Has dial-up connection for local forecasts which was not tested, this was a toll call to an 900 phone number which may not be in service any longer, note that this is pre-Internet software. It installed alright on a Windows XP Professional system, it is not tested for compatibility with the Vista operating system. We tried a few basic functions from the menu, but the software is not sold with a guarantee. This is legacy Windows software designed for a mid-90s system, your results may vary depending on system configuration. Provides information for children in grades 4-8 a background in weather including information on clouds, tornadoes, hurricanes, a log of city-by-city temperature variations and precipitation in a list of American cities by month and some international cities as well. The interfaces are fairly simple, and basic with slide-show type presentations and some quizzes such as cloud identification. It appears that there is no technical support available, we checked for the website and it was no longer working as a software development organization. This might be of interest to fans of the Weather Channel as well since it is from the early days of this cable TV phenomena. *
