Welcome to the home of My-Lynx Associates. If you look in the upper left hand side of this page, you can see a "Browse by Category" link that will take you to our merchandise selections, arranged neatly by category, otherwise use the search box to go through our nearly 2,000 unique items for sale. If you want to know more about our business and working environment, please continue reading.
We are an online (mostly book) store located in Austin, Texas, in the United States, on the outskirts of the picturesque "Hill Country". Currently, we sell through Internet sales, we may open a retail store in the future. My-Lynx Associates also sells on Amazon, Biblio eBay, Abebooks, Alibris, Half.com, and Valore.
We have a home-based business in an area of rolling hills, limestone escarpments, gently flowing streams, and the beloved Western live oak trees which remain green the year around. We occasionally even encounter deer racing across the front lawn, and especially on moonlit nights, they browse in groups on the grass and shrubs. We use professional grade encryption for our transactions, and we are partnered with professional credit card processing company to provide you with SSL encrypted communications.
That being said, we deliver packages to the Post Office destined for our customers in the early morning hours, before dawn, we have to drive slowly, in case the deer decide to suddenly (and unpredictably) make their way across the local thoroughfares. The recent winter rains have brought them back and during a recent walk we saw five deer as we walked through a copse of trees. We had dropped our books off at the Post Office in time for the early closing on Saturday, and we celebrated by taking a walk.
Despite this reflective atmosphere, we are assiduously working nearly every day on either listing new items for sale, or looking for new merchandise to sell. If you, as a potential customer, have any questions, we have an e-mail address below. If you order on a Friday night, we check for orders on Saturday morning too, in time to get it to the Post Office before it closes early, if it is possible.
Our merchandise is new to us and for our purposes at My-Lynx Associates "new" is a relative term, because we are always on the lookout for merchandise that is unusual, specialized, obscure, or out-of-print. We do occasionally find "new" merchandise, but we do not have a direct relationship with a publisher, hence put the word new in quotes, meaning new to us, not necessarily in new condition. In other words we are recyclers of old wisdom, since many of our texts were destined to be discarded, shredded, or in some cases (gasp) sent to landfill. We have an eagle eye for value and we go through thousands of books searching for the best of the best. While we are not concerned overly about our "carbon footprint", our thrifty nature means that we try to minimize costs, and we are lucky that we can often catch our local postwoman / postman on their "appointed rounds" in the late morning, so we do not even have to drive to the Post Office.
Please search or browse our inventory of hard to find, out of print, used, and rare books. If you can't find what you like please fill out our off-line search form and we will search our off-line inventory, and place your book on our list of books to be on the lookout for.
We are still taking money-orders for our domestic United States customers. Contact us via e-mail first about your desired book. We can then remove the item from the website to prevent the sale to another customer and provide you with our mailing address via return a e-mail. This might be helpful for those who do not feel comfortable with purchasing an item on-line. Simply contact us at:
Please include the name of the book, and we will make the arrangements. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any other questions, inquiries about merchandise, shipping costs or comments about our site.
We have a blog with our droll observations about books, and links to the other 7 sites (previously mentioned) that we sell on at the following clickable button:
